The display is based on the Vizplex version of E-ink technology with no backlighting. Additionally, Whispernet leverages on Amazon’s optimized technology plus Sprint’s national high-speed (EVDO) data network for its users to wirelessly search, discover, download, and read content on the spot. The original Kindle eBook Reader is succeeded by an improved edition called Kindle 2. It retains a great deal of the winning features but minus the rough edges of the maiden version.
