speed reading novels

i wanna have a baby but im young?
ok ok ok i know wut u guys r thinking “WTF WUT A WHO.RE” but wait, yes i’m 13, no im not going to have sex, become pregnant and i dont even have a bf for that matter. what my problem is that i LOVE kids and i just want a baby of my own. i just don’t know how to put it. i really want life to speed up so i can have a baby of my own. i always watch pregnant moms with jealousy and read novels where teens get pregnant and panic. my question for that is why? i would love to get pregnant now..i dunno im not planning to but i really really want a baby so waht should i do about this? and again THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT IM ACTUALLY GONNA GET PREGNANT so please no rude comments.
i havnt even had my period yet people. its not even possible for me to have a baby. i was just saying i dunno what i should do. like is it normal to want a baby so young?
I know how you feel. I have wanted a baby for as long as I can remember!! I played with dolls for a long time!! Anyway, I got married young…18….and I always figured that I would probably get pregnant right away because Ive wanted a baby for so long. Now Im 20, and I think Im at that point where Im not too young, but Im at an okay age. I know my parents will flip out, but oh well…they are going to have to deal with it! My best friend is 17 and she has 2 kids already…so, at least Im not that bad!! LOL!!
So, dont worry….these next few years will go by before you know it, and you will get married and have that baby soon!
If I were you I would start babysitting more! It helps a little bit!! Take lots of child development courses to prepare yourself, and right out of high school get trained in something so that you have a nice solid career…even if it is something like cosmo school or medical assisting! It might allow you to have a baby sooner because you will have money sooner! My husband is military right now, and Im still plugging away at college….Im hoping to get a job at a daycare though!!
Good luck on the next few years, and just enjoy being young!

How Novels Work $32.81 Drawing on his weekly Guardian column, "Elements of Fiction," John Mullan offers an engaging look at the novel, focusing mostly on works of the last ten years as he illuminates the rich resources of novelistic technique. Mullan sheds light on some of the true masterworks of contemporary fiction, including Monica Ali`s Brick Lane, J.M. Coetzee`s Disgrace, Don DeLillo`s Underworld, Jonathan Franzen`s The Corrections, Mark Haddon`s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Patricia Highsmith`s Ripley under Ground, Ian McEwan`s Atonement, John le Carre`s The Constant Gardener, Philip Roth`s The Human Stain, Jonathan Safran Foer`s Everything Is Illuminated, and Zadie Smith`s White Teeth. He highlights how these acclaimed authors use some of the basic elements of fiction. Some topics (like plot, dialogue, or location) will appear familiar to most novel readers, while others (meta-narrative, prolepsis, amplification) will open readers` eyes to new ways of understanding and appreciating the writer`s craft. Mullan also excels at comparing modern and classic authors–Nick Hornby`s adoption of a female narrator is compared to Daniel Defoe`s; Ian McEwan`s use of weather is set against Austen`s and Hardy`s. How Novels Work explains how the pleasures of novel reading often come from the formal ingenuity of the novelist, making visible techniques and effects we are often only half-aware of as we read. It is an entertaining and stimulating volume that will captivate anyone who is interested in the contemporary or the classical novel. |

For Student Series Novels: Ragtime by E. L. Doctorow $8.99 It often seems that there is a competition between popular literature and artistic literature, with each one claiming the right to call itself the greater benefit to society. Ragtime is one of the few novels that transcends this competition completely, having proven itself with undeniable success in both areas. Some critics have picked out miscellaneous faults, but the novel was received with widespread praise when it was published in 1975. Most reviewers agreed that Doctorow took the combination of historical and imaginary characters, a technique used often in historical novels but with only weak results, and manipulated it into a rich blend that is entertaining, challenging, and true to the spirit of the times. The reading public agreed: unlike many experimental works of art whose freshness makes them too difficult for widespread audiences, Ragtime became a best-seller in its initial hardcover edition. For a period of time in the mid-seventies, it seemed there was a copy in every home. E. L. Doctorow became a household name, and each new book he releases to this day is still considered a significant literary event, although it would be unreal to think that an event like Ragtime could occur more than once in one writer’s lifetime. The novel’s influence on popular culture continues today; it was adapted into a major Broadway musical in the late 1990s. |
