speed reading books
What do they really mean with sub vocalization? (speed reading)?
Hello, I wonder what they(authors of speed reading books, teachers at seminars etc) mean with sub vocalization. I used to pronounce all words before but now I just here them in my head without sounding them. Is it the sounding from my lips that is the sub vocalization? Thanks. And I would love to get an answer from someone pretty good at speed reading, that could hopefully give me some tips and/or pointers.
Right now I’m going at 350 wpm but would really like to go faster.

I’ve learned speed reading a few months ago. Even if you’re only sounding from your lips, you’re still sub vocalizing. If you can get rid of the problem, you should be reading at the speed of at least 600 wpm or above. Do you practise with some tools? It is a must, as I found it really needs some effort to get rid of the little voice in our brain or lips…
I learned with some tools myself, but I don’t know how to teach others. I can only tell you the course I used, not sure if it helps. But it also teaches how to comprehend and memorize better. It is not expensive, and it has quite a lot of good customer reviews from Amazon. There is also a website which reviews it and recommends how to get most out of the course.
